Elizabeth Burton Dip Remedial Massage, Dip in Sport (Athlete Support)
(Contracted Remedial Therapist.)
Hi, my name is Elizabeth. I graduated from the Australasian College of Natural Therapies mid 2011 after completing an 18 month intensive course where I obtained my Diploma in Remedial Massage and Diploma in Sport (Athlete Support Services). During the course of my studies I worked with Tennis Queensland's junior athletes, which gave me valuable insight into the world of professional sport. I have been dancing since the age of 3 and have completed the CSTD examination syllabus in Jazz, Tap, Classical Ballet, and Theatrical. I've also completed my Teaching Certificates in the Theatrical and Tapping syllabi. After seeing and experiencing the pain and various injuries suffered by dancers and others alike, my passion for dance and my desire to help others achieve the very best they can, has led me to where I am today. I'm able to treat a variety of musculoskeletal dysfunctions and pain, whether that pain is caused by repetitive overuse, trauma, daily wear and tear, postural impairment or anxiety and stress. The main goal of the treatments that I provide is to assist the body in returning to optimum health and wellbeing by using a variety of techniques personalised to suit the condition of the client. The techniques I use include: Swedish Relaxation Massage, Deep Tissue Massage (incorporating Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release and Cupping), Pregnancy Massage, Pre/Post Sport Massage, Stretching/Strengthening Exercises and Lymphatic Drainage. I also ensure, as a member of the Australian Natural Therapists Association, that I'm constantly updating my skills and knowledge so that I can treat your condition to the best of my ability.
