Sweet almond oil is a great moisturiser that is claimed to be beneficial for all types of skin. Whilst it is absorbed by the skin, it does not penetrated the skin overly fast which makes it a great carrier oil for remedial massage therapists, allowing time to carry out the essential remedial massage strokes before the oil is completely absorbed by the skin.
Other benefits that may be attributed to sweet almond oil are that it can relieve skin irritation and inflammation, protecting the surface of the skin. In addition it has the ability to act as an emollient and softens/conditions the skin.
Sweet almond oil is extremely popular amongst massage therapists as a carrier oil, as it is not greasy, spreads easily whilst conferring great nourishing benefits to the skin. Best of all, it is relatively inexpensive.
